Taman Ujung, Evidence of Karangasem Kingdom Glory

Taman Ujung Soekasada, also known as Park Ujung is located on the seashore, village of Ujung, Karangasem. This park is evidence of the triumph of Kingdom Karangasem. From the history and based on research, this park is the result of acculturation between Balinese and European that reflects Balinese local genius .

The architect of  this park's development is the King of  Karangasem Kingdom with the architectural and aesthetic ability . He successfully take advantage of the landscape and the environment condition surrounding which terraced with a background, mountain springs, rivers and beaches. In that construction he involves the Dutch architect named Van Den Hentz and a Chinese architecture named Loto Ang.

Taman Ujung was built in 1919 and was inaugurated in 1921. This park was built by king Karangsem used as a resort or to entertain important guests like kings or Foreign Country Head of Government who visited the Kingdom of Karangasem. In this park there are three large ponds , in the middle of the northern pond there is the main building and connected by two bridges. Next to the pool there are gardens flower pots and statues.

Unfortunately this magnificent cultural heritage has been destroyed by the earthquake that happen when Mount Agung erupted in 1963, primarily due to the earthquake that occurred in 1979. Although in ruins, but the impression of majestic in the past are still visible a view of beauty.

Taman Ujung has been reorganized and became a very busy tourist attraction visited by tourists. Besides this place is also often used as an object by the photographer and prewedding photo location.
